Access to the spring is open after visiting Audrey and talking to the people
there. You'll find a building that you can enter with your tanks and two
tents. Inside the building are three Vending Machines and a Flog Race game
machine that requires 150G to enter! (If you use save states it's a good
source of cash, although the races don't repeat exactly the same every time.)
The man behind the counter offers two expensive decorative items for sale,
including a mini-game and upstairs you'll find a massage man. You can enter
both tents with tanks and the first sells tank parts.

Drive south from Audrey and then east and you will find an area of rocks and
jetties, situated above the water. It's also due east from Isaac Spring.

You'll meet much larger groups of enemies on the world map, such as 4 Sniper
dogs and 2 Kiwi droppers all at once so you'll need the best weapons to deal
with them. Although you cannot cross the large rocks with tanks, you CAN walk
over them to reach the buildings.

This place is important for a number of reasons. You can buy a tank, find the
Lock Hacker tool that opens locked doors, and buy Healing Drinks (better
healing items). Wait until you have your third ally before going here and
you'll need spare protectors, neutralizing cream to heal acid/poison status
and plenty of healing items. You MUST have a [ガスマスク] - Gas Mask, bought in
Audrey and I'd also suggest buying an SMG Gun for the Soldier.

1. East Building
----------------
Enemies : Crab Gun, (can't defeat with weak weapons) Wandering Polytank,
Enormous Ant, Sniper Dog.

If you run into the Crab Gun and can't defeat it, just escape from the battle.
Other than that the enemies are easy in this building. There's nothing to find
on first floor, although there's a wardrobe at the back of the second room
which contains... nothing. Go straight up the stairs on the right and in the
first room Yazoo tells you about the wardrobe. The middle room is locked.
Check the wardrobe in the left room and a monster will appear.

To use the Gas Mask, just select it from the Items at the start of a turn, and
you can still attack. Continue to attack even when the Tansugon shuts itself
in the cupboard; even though some attacks might miss, at least there is no
danger of falling asleep. But in fact it's a lot easier in this game than in
MMR and with levels of 13 or so and good protection you'll defeat him
quickly.

Defeat him and return to speak to Yazoo on the same floor, who gives you the
[アパートのかぎ] - APARTMENT KEY. Go to the items inventory and click on the
Apartment Key and Use= (the top option) while standing in front of
the locked door. Go through to get the [ロックハッカー ] - LOCK HACKER from the
wooden box and you'll hear that reassuring triumphal music. The item will go
into the first available item slot. Always carry this item, as it is used in
many different places.

2. North Building

Go inside the northern most building on foot and up the stairs to the right.
Watch out for the DNA Blob enemies because they duplicate themselves and
you'll soon be fighting 8 of them at once for quite a while! However that also
means that experience and gold is multiplied! Carry on up the next stairs at
the far left to the next floor. The left room is locked and there's a crate in
the right room with [ロンドンブーツ] - LONDON BOOTS. You need to unlock the
room with the Lock Hacker item obtained in the first building and open the
crate for [470 GOLD]. That's all there is in this building apart from more DNA
Blobs and a couple of people to talk to. I wouldn't bother with it and it's
not necessary to talk to anyone.

Carry on climbing up the stairs to the next floor, and you will find a blocked
door into a room, where someone is hiding out, and an empty wardrobe in the
adjoining room. You can't get access here, so continue again up to the next
floor. The right hand room has an opening in the floor, and a ladder down to
the room below. Although there is nothing to find you can speak to the man
and he mentions Yazoo, who you can find in the next building. You can climb
the next stairs to the roof but there is just one person to speak to and
nothing to find.

3. South Building

You can drive in here with the tanks but have to leave them at the door.
You'll see a tank waiting inside the first room. Talk to the man at the
counter and say Yes to be offered a chance to decide how much you are willing
to pay for this tank. It's going to cost a lot... so, although this is the
third tank you'll find, it's unlikely to be the third one you acquire.

I didn't manage to buy this until a lot later in the game and tried a whole
range of amounts, up to 60,000 Gold, and still he refused to accept my
generous offers. I increased it to 61,111 and he said yes. (I used the bounty
from defeating Gomez but I'm not sure that it's worth it!) The price seems to
be random and the best advice is to save your game before starting to bargain,
and reload if you want to try and pay less when you've had an offer accepted.

For now, go upstairs and talk to the blue man at the left counter who sells
healing items.

When you buy the tank it comes equipped with medium grade tank parts:
[160ミリアモルフ] - 160MM SPARK Main Gun, [ガトリングほう] - GATLING (the same
Autogun that was on the Buggy), the [ウォズニアクII] - WOZNIAK II C UNIT, and
[シルフィード] - SILPHEED engine. It has the capacity for 32 shells and
323/2190 SP. Once you've got the tank, open an SE slot for it at Rocco or Il
Migra chassis mod shop and it only costs 3333 Gold.

4. West Building (Bottom left)

This contains a small puzzle, and you can test out the Lock Hacker again! Use
the Lock Hacker on the top locked door and push the first mannequin doll thing
out of the way. Then push the one at the left to the left. Go all the way
around the tables and down the ladder in the floor. (If you mess up, you can
leave the building to re-set the puzzle.)

Walk down the path and beware because enemies appear here and you don't have
your tanks. Climb up the lower stairs in the passage and then out the door at
the top of the screen. (The middle stairs takes you into a room from which
there is no exit.) Although you can walk around the shelves to reach the door
at the right and open it. If you push the mannequin out of the way and walk up
the area you'll find that you're back at the entrance! Instead, leave by the
opening at the left and stand on the brown circle at the corner of the
building. Select "Examine" and a manhole cover will open with an audible
click. Descend the ladder.

You're back in the sewer type area with the same enemies as before. Walk up
the path and climb the stairs. Walk along the passage and into a room where
you can open three wooden boxes. The left one has [614 GOLD], the middle one
has [いれずみシール] - FAKE TATTOO, and the third contains a free weapon:
[かえんじゅう] - FLAME GUN. This is more powerful than the SMG but it only
targets one enemy.

Drive north from Audrey and you'll cross the water to reach the wooded land.
As soon as you move forwards the ground will shake with a minor earthquake. It
won't hurt you so just ignore it and carry on driving north. Eventually you'll
find this town just south of the sea.

Inside the small building with a tank icon you'll find the Tank Tools and
Parts shops at the right side of the garage. It's very tempting to upgrade the
C Unit and buy better guns here but you'll need quite a bit of Gold to do that
and might want to wait until you've got the next tank and killed the bounty
enemy. The first counter is an Interiors shop and the second one is a Shell
shop where you can refill the main gun and buy specialist shells. The large
garage hosts the Hunter's Office with a poster of one already killed monster
(Dos Piranhas) and the new Mad Muscle. There's a Memory Centre and refill
centre as well as two Vending Machines and an Auto Repair man standing on his
own at the top left.

Inside the tent just outside the boundary of the town you'll find a trader mod
shop. They will boost the defence of the chassis for a tank: more expense but
worth it for tanks you'll be using for a while, and add to the special shell
capacity. You can also open new slots to your tanks giving you the option to
add more weapons: an SE gun to the Mosquito and a Main Gun to the Buggy. See
the next section for details about how to do this when you get your next tank!
The cost varies for each tank: the better the tank, the more Gold you'll have
to pay out. It's definitely worth while adding to the Magazine/Shells capacity
Each additional boost adds a little weight. These are the menu options after
you've selected the tank you wish to modify.

1. Increase Magazine Capacity - do this as many times as they will allow:
to a maximum of 128 shells for each tank.
2. Increase Defence - do this a few times to reach the upper
limit for that chassis
3. Customise Slots - Main Gun - if permitted
(Drill a hole) - Sub Gun - if permitted
- SE Gun - if permitted

You can confirm each increase before they go ahead and they won't do anything
if you've reached the limit or cannot have a slot opened.

The Inn contains a bar and two girls to chat to as well as a masseur. By the
way, you cannot access the upper floor of the Inn unless you pay for the most
expensive room.

Head for the armour shop and buy the Laser Rifle for Soldier as well as the
Rivet Cleats, and make sure everyone has a Barrier Seal equipped and maybe a
spare! When you're suited and booted, leave town and head west and then north
when you reach the mountains. It might be best to rent a tank for the third
person as there are some strong enemies on the way, and for that you'll need
to take a quick trip back to Pobre Obre or Audrey.

TREASURE
Leave Rocco and drive south, counting 25 paces and then, turn to the east and
count another 22 paces. You'll be in the middle of an area with long grass,
and the only other visible feature on the screen is two squares of brown at
the extreme bottom right edge. Examine the ground or use the Metal Detector to
find [4702 GOLD].

From Rocco drive west and then north and you'll see a small grey building that
cannot be accessed by tanks. Stop outside and enter the "invincible" Hospital.
There's nothing to find on the ground floor so make your way up the stairs to
the next where you'll spot a man inside a room that you can enter from the
landing : just walk over the stool in front of the door. He'll run off and you
can stay awhile and play Frog Racing with a wager of 50G if you want.

Follow him into the corridor and he'll run again. Enter the room and open the
crate for a [かいふくドリンク] - HEALING DRINK, and the second one for a
[ニトロビール] - NITRO BEER. There's nothing in the wardrobe. Follow him down
the stairs and he'll run off again down some stairs. Push the plant pot down
the room and follow him down to the lower floor and check out the open
wardrobe. He's hiding there and will run off again to end inside the garage
with two pink looking ambulances. He gets inside one and when you cross the
threshold into the garage he'll confront you!

He attacks once on each round and will hurt Hunter (if he's your leading
character) for around 115 HP on each turn which isn't too good. You can hardly
hurt him at all. He also might not attack on one round and pose instead, but
that's not good news because he'll attack with doubled power on the next turn.
Ideally have two people using the powerful Laser Rifle (or just the soldier if
money is tight, with Hunter using the Flame Gun you found), and mechanic
throwing items and healing the other two if HP gets below 250.

Use the Nitro Beer you found or a Blaze Bottle on him He has really high
defence and it's hard to damage him by much at low levels. Keep checking the
equipment menu to see if the protector has broken and if so, replace it with
an intact one. [プロテクタくず] is what a scrapped protector looks like!
With the Laser Rifle Soldier can do around 50- 60 HP damage so keep her alive
whatever you do! My team were level 14/14/12 and they all gained a level.

After the battle, walk up to claim the [バン] VAN. This comes equipped with a
HAL900 C Unit, and [ギガブル] GigaBull engine and nothing else, apart from the
chassis of course. Drive up the ramp to exit to the world map and pick up the
rest of your tanks. If you have a rental tank, then just tow the Van since it
cannot attack unless you move a weapon over from one of your other two tanks.
But the sensible thing is to use the Dog System and head back to town to heal
up and check out this new tank! Collect the bounty and you can buy new stuff.

SLOT MODIFICATION IN ROCCO
You'll soon discover that the Van is just an ambulance and isn't a tank so it
has no slots available for fitting guns until you find a mod shop to add them.
Go inside the trader camp at Rocco and pick Yes and then select the tank.
Choose the third option to be shown a list of Main Gun, Sub Gun and SE Gun.
Pick one and select Yes again to see the price. Confirm your choice and pay
the price to have the slot added. (This doesn't include any weapons and is
just to open a slot so you can add new guns!) For the Van it costs 5600 for
the Main Gun slot, 1400 for the Sub Gun and 1866 for the SE Gun. I just did
the latter two for now. You can also add an SE slot to the Mosquito (tank 1)
for 1033, and a Main Gun to the Buggy (tank 2) for 7200! Be aware that each
additional slot also adds a weight factor (.30 or .40 tons) so you'll need
some spare capacity to add them.

Buy an SE gun for the Van but don't bother with the Autogun if you want to
save money because there's one for free in the next location.
